Once again we are out there collecting donations to benefit our area children who would not have a Christmas if not for the generosity of you.  The kick-off yard sale was great this year with one of the best years in a while.  We had a wonderful turnout and started our fund-raising on a good note.  All year the Soddy-Daisy Firefighters Association and local businesses work to collect funds to give children in the Soddy-Daisy area a Christmas to remember.  The funds come not only from donations, but also from the motorcycle ride "Love Run for the Kids" (our 12th this year) which is Saturday, November 19th.   If you happen to visit one of the local businesses and see a firefighters' boot on the counter, drop your coins in there, it goes to a great cause.  If you visit Wal-Mart the Wednesday before Thanksgiving or the Friday after Thanksgiving, be sure to say hello to the volunteer firefighters as they collect money for our kids.  The Christmas Parade participants also get into the act, as the money they pay to be in the parade also helps the fund.  To participate in the parade, stop by the Soddy-Daisy City Hall and pick up an application. 

Last year we purchased gifts for over 350 children in our community.  Hopefully, with your assistance, we can purchase more this year.  This is a year long event that we love and with your help and the help of the community, a lot more kids will benefit and have a "Christmas to Remember" this year and many years to come.
